Thursday, June 11, 2015 the USBR informed the Kennewick Irrigation District that the drought has arrived and K.I.D. would be begin to experience the first reduction in the amount of water allowable for diversion.

K.I.D.’s water diversion amount was reduced for the first time this year. Original estimates from the USBR indicated a reduction of 20 cubic feet per second (cfs) but these numbers were updated today to show an actual reduction of 38 cfs.

At this time, K.I.D. would like to remind all customers that it is imperative to continue to water according to the Watering Schedule released by the District on May 19th. For large parcel land owners, please continue to follow the schedule established with the District.
