The Industrial Mechanic position performs maintenance on the most difficult and complex vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair work such as CAT powered diesel dozers, graders, scrapers, and similar heavy equipment. Performs pump and pump station rebuilds as assigned.

Required Experience:  A combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities; two years of increasingly responsible experience working on CAT diesel engines and related equipment maintenance and repair duties; formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance including specialized training in the maintenance and repair of gas-powered and diesel-powered equipment.

Required Licenses and Other Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent; Washington State Driver License with acceptable driving record; acceptable criminal background record, and clean drug screen.

The Mechanic I position supports the Operations Superintendent with District operations and maintenance activities including the following duties: Repairs District vehicles and heavy equipment; schedules and performs routine maintenance such as lubrications, filter, bulbs, and belts; services and repairs break systems; uses mechanic’s hand tools, diagnostic and test equipment; frequently uses a variety of power tools which could include the following: gas cutting torch, welder, soil compactor, concrete saw, impact wrench, compressor, jack hammer, saws-all, chain saw, brush mower, and weed cutters; operates a variety of motorized equipment which could include the following: pickup truck, boom truck, dump truck, vacuum truck, grader, dozer, backhoe, wheel loader and excavator; and maintains inventory of repair and replacement parts for vehicles, heavy equipment, and irrigation system components.

Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent; Washington State Driver License with acceptable driving record; three years vehicle and equipment servicing; familiar with parts inventory controls and accountability.

Licenses/Certificates: Washington Class-A Commercial Driver License; ASE Brake Certification; First Aid with CPR; Traffic Flagging Certificate; Pesticide Applicator’s License (preferred).

Required Licenses and Other Requirements: Class-A Commercial Driver License with acceptable driving record; ASE Brake Certification (within 6 months of employment); First Aid with CPR; Traffic Flagging Certificate; Pesticide Applicator’s License (preferred); Three (3) years vehicle and equipment servicing; familiarity with parts inventory controls and accountability; High School Diploma or equivalent; acceptable criminal background record, and clean drug screen.

The Staff Engineer I (EIT) will apply civil engineering principles for entire District water resource project cycles, to include design, development, project coordination, inspection, and project completion.  Major responsibilities include, in part: Preparing analysis of projects for preliminary design, calculations, life cycle cost, and equipment selection; conducting surveys to gather field data; preparing drawings, layouts, and constructions plans, and preparing technical construction specifications. 

Required Experience:  Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering; Engineering in Training (EIT) Certificate; and a range of experience from a new college graduate to five (5) years of successful engineering work experience.

Other Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent; Washington State Driver License with acceptable driving record; acceptable criminal background record, and clean drug screen.

The Maintenance I position performs a variety of work activities that support the District operations, maintenance, and construction activities with progressive improvement in knowledge, skills, and abilities.  Tasks may include maintaining the District Main Canal, canal laterals, and patrol roads; isolating systems and recording information on the District computer systems; maintenance the piping and valves within the District system, replacing turnout gates and other water diversion components, and installing and repairing underground piping of all sizes, materials and depths.

The GIS Intern will assist in maintaining the District’s Enterprise Geographic Information Systems through various data management operations and ad-hoc spatial analyses, including, in part: Providing support in maintaining the District’s Enterprise Geographic Information System (ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online); Maintaining existing GIS spatial and tabular data by performing regular updates; Creating new GIS spatial and tabular data layers; Producing GIS products such as maps, scenes, analysis tables, drawings, and other informational products.

Required Experience:  Actively pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Geographic Information Systems/Science, or closely-related field; Experience working with ESRI’s ArcGIS software suite, including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise; A combination of education and experience resulting in the ability to perform all job duties, in an efficient manner, may be substituted.

The Temporary Welder/Fabricator supports the Operations Leads with District building maintenance and construction activities in one or more of the following specific areas as directed:  Cut, fabricate, and install metal and other structures according to specifications; fabricate and weld metal materials according to design and specifications; assist other employees as needed; and perform related work on weekends and overtime as required.  

Essential duties may include: General understanding and ability to read blueprints and sketches; assist with measurements and calculations to determine materials needed; and construct and fabricate metal structures including walk-ways, platforms, screens, and other irrigation structures.

Required: Proven experience as a welder/fabricator; proven experience with welding materials; understanding of welding techniques and methods of installation and construction; ability to read technical documents and drawings; High School Diploma or equivalent; Washington State Driver License with acceptable driving record; acceptable criminal background record; clean drug screen, and First Aid Certification.
