May is National Water Safety Month!
Although the Salmon Summit took place at the end of April, it was a great opportunity for us to educate hundreds of kids on the importance of being safe around canals.
Here are a few highlights from our booth:
KID History – Sharing our long history (since 1917!) and some fun facts about prices and events from that era.
True or False – Quizzing kids on the surprising (and sometimes silly!) things we’ve found in our canals. (Sharks anyone?đ)
Siphon/Water Display – Demonstrating the dangers of canals and siphons with a model system.
A big thank you to the Benton Conservation District for hosting such an amazing event for the kids and inviting us to be a part of it!
About the Salmon Summit:
Salmon Summit is the culminating activity for âSalmon in the Classroomâ schools. After raising fish through the winter and spring, Salmon Summit provides students with an outdoor learning experience that enables them to release the fish into an approved water body.
