Kennewick Irrigation District stays active in the community by hosting, sponsoring or participating in several events throughout the year. A few of these events include:

Light Up The Night Appreciation | In honor of our local healthcare heroes, KID hosted a community wide event that brought out hundreds of people, including all local fire/police departments and city staff that “lit up” their vehicle lights to show appreciation during COVID-19.

Safety Santa | Each year, KID partners with local agencies to provide a fun filled safety event that includes free photos with Santa!

Riverfest | In support of the Snake River dams, KID attends Riverfest to educate folks on canal safety and water conservation practices.

Salmon Summit | Each year, 4th graders from around the Tri-Cities raise salmon through the winter in their classrooms. Come spring, they are released into the Columbia River. The event provides students with an outdoor learning experience. Local agencies also attend, including KID, where we educate the students on canal safety.
