Kennewick Irrigation District Updated Water Supply Outlook for Customers

KID received a mid-April forecast of the water supply from the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (USBR) for Yakima River pro-ratable users such as KID and water supply has increased from 77% to 84%. The precipitation in April has helped to increase the reservoirs storage.

As of now, KID is not requiring curtailments or rationing for customers. KID staff is continuing to track the water supplies closely, and will have a better idea of summer conditions after the USBR releases another water supply forecast in May.

KID would like to remind customers to use water wisely and retrain your lawn now. To promote drought resilient lawns, we recommend to water less frequently but for longer durations to cultivate a deeper root system.
