The Kennewick Irrigation District would like to inform our customers and our community that following an audit of 2013 financial statements and accountability by the Washington State Auditor’s Office, there were no findings and no recommendations were given. KID obtained a clean audit.
The annual audit reviews KID financial statements and also performs an Accountability Audit designed to test compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and requirements and looks at the District’s internal controls to ensure that there is adequate safeguarding of public resources.
In part, this clean audit was the result of thorough and sustained efforts by the KID to provide training to KID purchasers regarding compliance with Washington State purchasing guidelines, as well as the commitment and dedication of KID purchasers to follow these guidelines.
