The Kennewick Irrigation District wants the general public to know that irrigation water may contain harmful microbial contaminates and should not be ingested. Moreover, as the weather warms, parents should avoid having their children play in irrigation water and should not use irrigation water to fill pools.

The Kennewick Irrigation District was organized in 1917.  KID serves agricultural and residential customers within parts of Kennewick, Richland, West Richland and Benton County.  The KID’s water right comes from the Yakima River and is granted by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation.  KID provides irrigation water to approximately 23,000 landowners across 20,201 acres.
