Please make sure the valves on your irrigation risers are closed as the Kennewick Irrigation District fills the canals and starts up the irrigation service to your neighborhoods. At this time of the year, there is an avoidable risk of flooding from irrigation risers which have been left open over the winter. If water arrives while a forgotten open valve is unobserved, it may run for a long time before the running water is noticed and turned off.
