The Kennewick Irrigation District understands that sometimes life brings unforeseen circumstances. In 2011 the KID partnered with Community Action Connection to offer assistance to low income ratepayers during times of financial need through the Helping Hands program. Since the inception of the program, 172 ratepayers have already received help paying a portion of their assessment. KID is the only irrigation district to make this type of program available in Washington.

Helping Hands is funded by revenues collected from delinquency fees and the generous donations of other KID ratepayers. Community Action Connection assists KID in screening and qualifying applicants. Special thanks to everyone who chose to donate this year; over forty ratepayers have received assistance paying a portion of their KID assessment.

Funds are once again available for the Helping Hands program. If you are interested in applying and would like more information on eligibility requirements, please visit our Helping Hands Program page or contact our Customer Account Supervisor, Dana Hernandez at 509.586.9111 x105.

Anyone interested in donating to the Helping Hands program may do so by using the option available on their payment coupon or by coming into the office located at 12 W. Kennewick Avenue in downtown Kennewick. All donations are tax deductible and every dollar donated will go to a ratepayer in need!
