The Kennewick Irrigation District is seeking qualified KID electors willing to serve as election board members.

Qualifications:  Any elector of the district may be appointed as a member of the election board.  Electors must be at least 18 years old, a citizen of the United States, a resident of Washington State, and holds title or evidence of title to assessable land in the Kennewick Irrigation District.

 Duties include:

COVID-19 considerations:  Due to COVID-19, the KID urges potential applicants for the election board to consider their own health status and risk factors in weighing whether to apply to be on the election board.  Poll workers will interact with individual voters, taking paperwork, collecting signatures in the poll books, issuing ballots, and answering questions.  Additionally, the board meeting at which canvassing the election takes place must be open to the public for observation.

Measures will be taken to minimize risk of infection, such as health screening and temperature reading for admittance, masks, gloves, physical barriers, social distancing, and sanitation practices.

Compensation:  Members of the election board will be compensated for their time at $16/hour.  A meal will be provided on election night.

 Selection:  The KID Board of Directors will select from among the applications received to appoint members of the election board at the Board meeting at 9:00 a.m. on November 17, 2020.
