In 2011 the Kennewick Irrigation District began partnering with Community Action Connection to offer assistance to low income customers experiencing financial hardship. The Helping Hands program provides assistance in paying annual irrigation assessments for qualified applicants. The assistance program is funded by a portion of the revenues collected from delinquency fees and donations made by other KID customers.

KID would like to thank our customers who have generously donated to the Helping Hands program; already in 2015 $19,206 in assistance has been paid on behalf of qualified recipients. This amount is an increase of nearly $2,000 over the 2014 amount.

Anyone interested in donating to the Helping Hands program may do so by using the option available on their payment coupon or by coming into the Administration office located at 12 W. Kennewick Avenue in downtown Kennewick. All donations are tax deductible and every dollar donated goes to helping customers in need.

If you are interested in applying for Helping Hands and would like more information on eligibility requirements, please visit our website: www.kid.org or contact our Customer Account Supervisor, Dana Hernandez at 509.586.9111 x105.
