Our Vegetation Management crew are diligent about looking for any signs of ground squirrels near or along our canals and canal roads. Recently, they found these holes from ground squirrels in the area, the holes may begin small but over time can grow and cause great damage.
Burrowing animals are an on-going challenge for irrigators. Canal breaches around our expanding urbanized area can have devastating results.
If you see signs of rodent activity near canals please report. You can report activity by:

– Visiting our website and selecting our “Report a Burrowing
Animal” button
